The students are required to prepare a short essay with a title “from the bite to the cell”. The essay should explain in a simple manner what happens to the ingested food. Students are required to focus on one type of food (carbohydrate, protein, or fat).

Word limit: 700 words (excluding references) with 5% leeway.

Your essay should be divided into introduction, main body, and conclusion:

1.    Introduction (100 words): a brief description of the food class chosen for the essay.

2.    Discussion (500 words): an explanation of the process/es of metabolism occurring within the body of that ingested food.

3.    Conclusion (100 words): an excellent summary of the essay.
