The Body of the Essay: Critical analysis – Identified the key issues in the literature; Identified the key findings which related to the topic; The links between learning the variables of interest are clearly defined; Identifies relevant limitations in the cited research (20 marks)
Conclusion: Provides a synthesis of the essay and not just a summary; Restates the topic and purpose; Reviews the major points; Discusses the implications; Has a strong concluding statement (5 marks)
Writing Style: The argument is logically presented; Paragraphs are well constructed; Sentences are concise; The sentences and paragraphs are clearly linked so the argument flows well (8 marks)
Depth of Reading: Minimum of 8 journal sources; The journal articles are relevant to the topic; Choice of articles demonstrates reading for a broad and deep understanding of the topic (5 marks)
APA 7 requirements: Grammar and spelling; Title page, title, spacing, margins, font; Citations; References (6 marks)
