Topic:

– The topic is up to you because it’s personal. That being said, there are a few constraints. You need to anchor your project to this course and to the concept of “the good life” in a meaningful way. You may think of what that phrase means to you, personally, though I’d hope you’d take the concept a bit beyond. Interrogate the concept. Challenge yourself and your audience.  Question what you’ve thought you’ve always known.  – – Use this course, our readings and discussions, to do so.

Don’t be afraid to be weird. Take risks. Abolish something. Build something. Consider a utopia or dystopia. Just make it personal, in some way.

The personal topic has to do with being a “soft” guy in today’s society. By that I mean a guy being gentle, able to have feelings, and cry, dressing feminine or different, etc. Try to make up some personal experiences and include them, but just go into detail about being a “soft” guy and just the different situations/struggles they face in today’s society.

You will have to relate this paper to “the good life” and you can have your own opinion on that, you just need to reference some of the texts we have read in class, and they include Le Guin – The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and Kafka The Metamorphosis.
