Using Chicago format,

Use subheadings from outline for paper organization. Paper should have title, page numbers, maps, and complete references (not just a URL).

Research paper: The paper will involve student-directed research into a topic of the student’s choosing for a scholarly/disciplinary audience.  The paper will define a geographical problem, locate primary and secondary sources of data on the nature and scope of the problem, identify and properly cite published conceptual sources on such problems and/or best practices in addressing them, and describe and assess the feasibility of potential policy interventions.

Perspectives: Geographic elements, traditions

Background:  Literature review, summary and critique

Methods of Analysis: type of analysis, Data Sources

Findings: Analysis of Information, relates to literature, identifies remaining or new questions

Conclusion:  summarizes main points, relates findings to purpose, research questions, identifies implication, contributes to geography

Bibliography (Find resources from news articles, academic articles and books)

Have 2-3 pages for your first draft plus your bibliography.

Include subheadings such as Introduction, Background, Methods, Findings, Conclusion.
