After reading/studying the textbook material, the How to Address the Opposition PDF, and the Addressing the Opposition Two Examples PDF, move on to the Opposition Worksheet. This file is a Word document so you have the option of typing directly on the worksheet or writing it out as a paragraph. You need to work through two opposing viewpoints and rebuttals for your paper. Complete directions are on the Worksheet. Don’t make up people who might disagree with your policy claim or come up with something off the top of your head. Instead, spend time this week researching counter viewpoints from politicians, think tanks, activist groups, school boards, mayors, city councils, etc… Then, you can specify a real person or group who has a real argument against your solution to the problem. Also, make sure you start your post with your working policy claim; the class needs to know WHO should do WHAT so they can understand your opposition and rebuttal.
