A psychological/psychoanalytical reading of the play can help us understand the characters in Oedipus the King. Consider how psychologicaland psychoanalytic concepts illuminate why certain characters act the way they do. The way we get insight into the characters is throughtheir words/dialogue, spoken thoughts (plays are meant to be performed), actions, appearance, and interactions.Analyze THREE characters. Each character analysis should be at least 200 words (so that will be a minimum of 600 words total), notincluding quotes from the text or external sources. For a bit of extra credit, you can analyze up to two additional characters. Wordcounts still apply.By nature, all arguments are debatable. Use the best evidence (primary (the play should be your main source) and secondary texts) tosupport your claims. Make sure to use MLA format to cite all sources.Note: Critical lenses do not exist in a bubble. For instance, you can easily combine psychological, psychoanalytic and feminist lenses.
