Prompt

As the Reagan Reagan administration was focused on eradicating the singular foreign threat of Communism and its Socialists brethren, conservatives also  grew concerned about growing domestic threats.  A new war for the hearts & minds of America was underway, along with a presidential legacy on the line . What “threats” were perceived to have emerged in the late 1980s to challenge a popular narrative established by the Reagan Administration that the United States was as a shining beacon of exceptionalism?  Please be mindful to connect these readings with previous materials you have come across this semester.
