Hi Everyone!
Now that you have watched the film Liar Liar, think about what would happen to you if you had to go a whole day without lying. Do you think you could do it? Sure, many of us wouldn’t identify as “liars,” but have we really stopped to think about how often we innocently lie in a day? Well, let’s try it out and see!
I would like for you all to take part in a fun experiment. Choose a day between now and Monday, 5/9, and try to go the whole day without a single lie. Then write a journal entry (approximately one page, double spaced), describing your experience.
Below, you will find more detailed instructions for this assignment:
Try spending one day in which you tell no lies-none whatsoever. No white lies, no
facade, no deflecting, no omission, none! The first time I tried this I awoke very early in
the morning and saw a text that I had seen the night before, yet ignored. I responded,
“Oops, sorry, I just saw this.” I was only awake for 30 seconds and I started my day off
with a lie!! 🙂 I want you to honestly journal about this day. How difficult was that day?
Did you even last one hour? Why or why not? What were the consequences of your total
honesty? Type up your journal entry in MLA format: double spaced, 12pt font.
