Choose an event from the past ten years that was *not* mentioned in this module’s virtual lecture. Formally citing and demonstrating comprehension of a reliable outside source, explain how the event relates to one of these issues from the virtual lecture: mass incarceration, the gender pay gap, environmental injustice, or reproductive oppression. Tip: Since the “peer review,” or “refereeing,” process of scholarly journals and books takes a long time, such sources aren’t always best for current events. For a reliable source of information about current events, you could try a news organization that has built up a reputation for ethical journalistic practices.
