Recommended Text: Co-Occurring Disorders: A Whole-Person Approach to the Assessment and Treatment of Substance Use and Mental Disorders (2nd edition)
PPT 20-25 slides. Make sure your presentation is engaging, colorful, eye-catching, and the information keeps the audience engaged in what you have to say. Use your TIP books, videos, and textbooks. Decide what mental health issues and substance issues your client has and what they will need. You will need to meet the client where they are at, what issues you can help them with and what goals you can help them meet. You will need to include the legal mandates and if they are in the system, basic human needs, and future needs. Create a character (client/s) or family to discuss in the presentation. Record yourself presenting your client as if you are in a interdisciplinary meeting. Give your clients biopsychosocial and then discuss a basic treatment plan. Remember to use notes and include graphics that are appropriate and coincide with clients issues and the things that you will work with the client on. The more issues that you discuss the better. If you create one issue for your client then it will be less likely that you understood the materials and your score would be low.
