For the assignment you need to prepare a research paper about a case of your choice where
you show how negotiation and/or mediation techniques have been used successfully.
The report needs to cover the following:
1) An introduction that covers the historical background of the case you have chosen, and
that ends with a research question that you will aim to answer in your research paper. ILO 4.1
2) The body of your paper needs to contain a detailed timeline showing the main phases of
the conflict, and how it has progressed. ILO 4.1
3) During each phase, you need to mention the techniques that have been used either for
negotiation and/or mediation. ILO 4.1
4) A summary that provides a clear answer for your research question and identifies the most
effective technique used for negotiation/mediation during the phases of the conflict with a
justification for your answer. ILO 4.1
