Cause and effect essay (read instructions)

Write an essay in which you explain the causes or effects, not both, of a social or political event. Either explain three things you believe led up to the event, causing it to happen, or explain three things you believe happened as a result of an event. Make sure the causes or the effects that you mention actually have a connection to the event that you can convincingly explain and show. Some examples of social or political events are mass shootings at schools, churches, and/or stores; DACA; the death of George Floyd; the recent protests or riots; the election of President Joe Biden; the insurrection on January 6, 2021; teenage pregnancy; poverty; educational system; illiteracy; violence in movies, television shows, or video games; drug use; alcoholism; lower unemployment rate; economic problems/success of the country, state, city, or some company; gas prices; or the rise or fall of the stock market. You can choose your own topic as long as it is something that has political or social ties and you explain its causes/effects. Each paragraph in the body should explain only one cause or effect of your event. Use the Thesis Template for Cause and Effect to formulate your thesis.
