District Plan for Blind/Visually Impaired

Develop a spreadsheet for a district to follow in supporting blind or visually impaired students in the general curriculum.

Your headings should be: Action, Person (Position) Responsible, Timeline for Completion, citation.

The citation column should specify the authority you used to justify the action.

Oklahoma School for the Blind has an outreach program that is helpful for all school districts in Oklahoma. They prefer to concentrate on small school districts that can be overwhelmed with the needs of a single-blind child. The OSB has training and assistive technology information on their website below. One of the resources the OSB provides information for is the iPad. Please scan through the manual below.

Bookshare, which has a digital copy of many texts and books that can be read by screen readers supports those with print disabilities, students with blindness or learning disabilities. Click on the Quick Start Guide for teachers and read through the directions.
