Design a one question survey in Google Forms that asks a question with a numerical answer (e.g. how many pets do you own?), collect data by emailing it to a minimum of 10 people, calculate descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and quartiles), make a box-and-whiskers plot, a histogram, and describe in full sentences what these statistics mean. Don’t just give the results, also interpret them. All calculations can be done in Excel. Also submit a screenshot or printout of your Google form. This can be pasted into your excel file or submitted as a separate document. Give a few sentences at the end describing the overall results. Here’s an example of that: Overall I found that on average people have 2 pets because the mean was 1.8. However, the standard deviation was 1.3, which means that the majority of my data was spread out between 0 and 3 pets. The mode was 1 so even though the mean was higher, it looks like the one person who has 8 pets was an outlier and pulled the mean up.
