Perhaps empirical question such as :

1. How does WFH increase or decrease profits ? 
2. Does changes in work from home increase productivity measured through profits 
3. How does WFH impact productivity of small business ? 

The paper

requires that you show the economic theory that applies to a question and then supply

empirical analysis to answer the question.

The  paper should include the following:

1. an introduction and overview of your question

2. a discussion of the microeconomic economic theory that underlies your question (consumer choice, producer choice, or markets)

3. an introduction to the data that you use to answer the question, including a summary

statistics table

4. a simple OLS regression analysis that suggests an answer to your question with a

thorough explanation of the statistical and economic significance of your results

5. either a more advanced regression analysis (regression discontinuity, difference-in-differences,

or instrumental variables) OR a thorough proposal for a hypothetical advanced analysis

method if the data or circumstances do not allow for such analysis

6. a conclusion that briefly discusses the importance of your findings

Be sure to include equations in both your theoretical model and explanation of your regression

model. Tables should model those in the papers we discuss in class. Show results using several

different sets of explanatory variables and show the R-squared and standard errors for your

coefficients. Discuss your choices related to functional form. I will also be looking for a clear

explanation of the likely biases in your regression results and the impact on your results.

Your tables should be placed directly into your paper. You will also need to submit a Stata

log file as a record of your data analysis along with your paper.

You should also have a bibliography. Though you do not need to have a literature review,
