case management Discussion

sYou’ve now gained a great deal of information about case management – the process and principles of case management, historical information and the progression to current practices, models of case management and the various roles of case managers, ethical and legal considerations, how to interview applicants, assess client needs, build a case file, develop a service plan, and coordinate those services for clients. You’ve also learned about the various organizational structures by which agencies function, some strategies for managing a case load, and, hopefully, gained an appreciation for the importance of taking care of yourself when working as a case manager so you can better serve your clients.

So now it’s time to take a moment and share with each other what you learned this semester that had the most impact on you. Here are the questions I’d like you to respond to:

1.  What did you come to realize about the practice of case management that you didn’t know before?

2.  What surprised you?

3.  What intrigued you?
