During the period we have covered thus far a large percentage of the world’s population did not stray far from the place they were born. At the same time, as we have seen, some people traveled vast distances. Thus far we have primarily discussed Afro-eurasia. Looking across this vast continent through the span of time we have covered so far, how did the actions of those who moved affect those whose lives were largely stationary? And what was the most significant form of movement that affected the people of Afro-eurasia in this period?
