Crash Course Review / Cornell Notes

Watch the YouTube video below and make sure to write down notes using Cornell Method.

  1. Watch the video “How We Make Memories” by CrashCourse and take notes. Your notes should:
    • Capture both main ideas and important details
    • Include questions about the topic
    • Include at least one meaningful abbreviations and symbols

Once you completed your notes, write a short reflection paragraph answering the following questions:

  1. How well did you take notes? What worked and what didn’t? Why?
  2. How do Cornell Notes differ from or similar to your current note-taking strategy? Do you think you will start or continue using the Cornell Note method? Why or why not?
    • If YES, explain in details how you think this method will help you improve your learning and studying in college.
    • If NO, explain in details which note-taking method is useful to you and how it will help you improve your learning and studying in college. Do you handwrite your notes or use a note-taking app?
  3. How does your note-taking method fit your learning style that you’ve identified Week 2? It may be helpful to review your Success Journal 2.

Formatting requirements:

  • Minimum 1 page
  • 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins
  • Include your name, class, and date on the top of your paper
  • Correct grammar and spelling
  • Paragraphs preferred
