As much as education in institutions is concerned, there is a great need for individuals and institutions to examine the quality of the outcomeposed. For instance, the values, personality, and generally, the well-being of a person upon exiting an institution. After going through their respective courses, the latter is measured by how confident and informed graduates are in life beyond the school world. Even though the typical class concepts are vital to an individual’s ability to apply them to practical issues, the idea of character is also essential (Lee et al., 347). Institutions should embrace character education not only in junior schools but also in colleges and universities. The latter is facilitated by the extended time neglect and abandonment of the classes used to impart the knowledge of values, ethics, and good conduct. Therefore Rowan College of South Jersey should consider implementing the program if a government directive is issued for colleges to offer the program to its students before being awarded a degree. Rowan College of South Jersey should consider mandating a character education class for its students because the program is vital for character development. It determines one’s personality and comprehends values and morality.
The college should consider making the mandate of charter education part of class and learning because it boosts one’s character development capability. As much as colleges and other learning institutions consider the academic information as applicable to a student’s career life post-school, education on character is critical. If introduced to the program, students will be better positioned to have a glance at the fundamental rules for life before they are unleashed into the outside world beyond school. Today, employees in the current generation look at the addition of academic qualifications. The latter accords students to effectively communicate and comprehend theoretical concepts in practical situations through a strong personality nurtured by the education character program. Education should not just be all about instilling academic information alone through class concepts (LaSalle, 150). Instead, it should also focus on leading students to a happier life in the workforce beyond just studies.
Character education is critical in shaping an individual’s personality. According to Mulyana&Suhermam, vulgarism in the current generations has been significantly linked to character. How people in the current generations conduct, themselves is a sign of a lack of proper character development, which affects personality formation through a deficiency of character education. For instance, a person’s environment is critical in determining who they become (Mulyana&Suhermam, 1). The occasion is mainly experienced in youth populations and young adults who are just fresh from colleges and other tertiary institutions. Therefore Rowan College will have an added advantage of marketing its students if it mandates character education since the program is discipline savvy. The occasion is aided by the fact that the concept is morally guided and ethically sensitive in nurturing good ethics and values individuals need s in the corporate world and different career fields.
The college should consider having the program because it is critical in imparting values and ethical concerns. By imposing the mandate, a student in Rowan College will aid students in the ability to honor morals and ethical issues, which are essential components of societal issues and challenges. According to an article by Governali, the latter suggests that some of the societal differences and challenges may be solved by multifaceted programs that are moral values and ethics savvy. Therefore character education has been elaborated as a component of what ought to be broadly based upon in addressing the many societal problems experienced in communities (Governali, 396). Therefore, colleges, including Rowan College of South Jersey, should work towards including the concept in class so that students are guided on how to conduct themselves ethically in the corporate world after school.
