For this assignment, please research a composer from the Classical era and write a 1-2 page, double spaced paper on them. You may choose from the composers covered in the book – Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven – or choose another composer, as long as you are sure they were a Classical composer! Please answer the following:

• When and where they were born and died, and what role their upbringing played in their musicianship (if any)
• What genre of composition / composition characteristics they were known for
• One of their well known pieces (something NOT discussed in the book)
  • Briefly describe the work, and mention how it did or did not fit in which typical Renaissance or Baroque composition techniques and styles.

You MUST use at least one source that is not your textbook, and at least one of your sources must be an article from a library database. Consider using Encyclopedia Britannica, Oxford Music Online, Oxford Reference Collection, Academic Search Premier, and JSTOR.

You must provide the proper citations for all resources used, both in the text and in a reference list at the end. Use any citation style you choose (recommended: MLA 8th edition, APA 6th edition).
