You will provide generic background information on the global issue and explain how this issue is a global issue impacting the world and not just America. o Any background information on the topic, as a whole, should be cited in-text. *basically, any research you read to help you write this paragraph should be paraphrased and cited in-text. Paragraph 2: Research Question and Theory o 3-5 sentenceso Introduce the research question you developed, explain why this research question should be answered, and why it is of value to discuss this. Paragraphs 3-5: Working Thesis and Overview of Sourceso 5-7 sentences PER PARAGRAPHo These paragraphs will attempt to answer your research question based on the information you have read from the preliminary research you conducted. o You must use at least 10 sources in this section in the form of paraphrasing and quoting with in-text citations. o Quoting may not exceed 20% of this sectiono Basically, you will read through all of your sources. You will look for sources that attempt and help you answer your research question. You will need to make connections between your sources (you practiced this in your synthesis assignment). Explain how these sources view the research question and how they answer the research question. Tip from the textbook: “You will draw on, quote [and paraphrase] from, and amplify the materials that help you define your position” on your research question. “Be sure to acknowledge materials that run counter to your thesis too. In academic and professional writing, you must not only acknowledge these dissenters but also outline their ideas objectively and introduce any quotations from them fairly.”o ALL sources must be ACADEMIC and credible. Do not use any sources that come from any type of media source (such as a magazine, news, radio). You may not use any wikis and NO blogs. You will be evaluated on your information literacy here, so I would recommend finding most of your sources from the databases or scholarly journals to avoid losing points.
