Week 8 Discussion: Lessons Learned and Future PerspectivesCO7: Assess future directions in SCRM.________________________________________
(Minimum 250 word response to Discussion Prompt)Discussion Prompt:How have your perspectives changed as we complete this course? We have read about lessons learned in managing supply risk and we have content that considers the future direction in SCRM. What steps do you think companies should be taking to become more resilient while also being profitable and competitive in the marketplace?
(Minimum 100 word response to Maggie)I have been in the logistics career field for quite a long time, and I cannot recall when I first heard about Supply chain risk management. I do know that we have all likely applied some basic principles of the concept in minor risk management strategies and we just never put a name to it. My perspectives have changed over time and with the help of this course on the importance of SCRM to supply chains. If COVID and the state of the economy and various situations resulting from those things have not shined a bright light on the need for risk management and resiliency in supply chains, I do not know what else could open the eyes of businesses.

(Minimum 100 word response to Jeremy)I hope everyone had a great weekend and are ready to complete the final week of SCRM. This course really gave me a new outlook on how businesses need to implement different areas of SCRM to ensure that they are successful in their endeavors. I have never thought about a lot of the things this class has taught me because I am a Property Book Officer and my job is repetitive in a way. Once I retire and open a business, I think this class will help out in being successful as a small business/LLC. I really enjoyed interacting with everyone and I wish you all well in the future.
Take care!
