Attend a live performances of a pop, rock, or related music. Then turn in a written concert response of at least 750 words (typically 3 or more pages) in 12-point Times New Roman or similar font, single spaced headings, double-spaced body, with 1” margins. The response will be in essay form.
In addition to whatever you feel is significant to say about your experience, you must also list:
-The basics: the time, the date, the venue, the price of the event.-The instruments that were played, and the performers’ names, all the performers. If the names of performers are not readily available, do some research; ask questions of the musicians if possible, ask by email or social media, search the internet. -Choose and review at least 3 songs. In addition to basics like the title and details of the performance, you may wish to include some background information such as, who is the composer/songwriter (which is very often not the performer(s) or at least not solely the performer), subject matter, circumstances of it creation, details of its production. Discuss the type of rhythm, style, tempo, form, meter, melody, any improvisation, and other compositional, musical, and artistic elements to the best of your listening ability.A detailed account of your personal impressions of the music (what you liked and disliked about it and why).
