Assignment:
The Research Paper should be developed around a topic and clearly articulated
thesis statement that have been approved and discussed with the instructor. You
should draw upon your secondary sources to synthesize a unified paper that
supports your thesis. Proper use of MLA documentation and works cited are
mandatory.
Include:
a) a clear thesis statement that expresses your position, theory or
perspective on the approved topic
b) evidence—including direct quotations— use at least (6) sources (books,
magazine, newspaper or journal articles, electronic sources such as videos,
Internet search materials, CD-ROM’s, audio CDs, or personal interviews.
c) all material that is used from secondary sources—whether in
direct quotations or paraphrased—must be documented with an
MLA parenthetical author/page citation and an entry on a works
cited page. You do not need to include an annotated bibliography
entry for the sources.
d) include a conclusion that expresses your ideas on what you
have learned or the significance of your research and writing
about the topic and thesis.
 All papers must be spell checked & carefully proofread.
 One half of a letter grade will be taken off for each day the paper is late until the
highest possible grade is “C.”
