Organization Theory

The past few years have seen large environmental shocks to many organizations, as a result of the pandemic, supply chain problems, and most recently geopolitical conflict.

Discuss in general how changes to characteristics of the external environment might affect organizational design, base yourself on two or more of these theories: uncertainty theories, resource dependence theory, stakeholder theory, institutional theory AND this case: Bin Kanzo (attached)

Two required sources: 

“Organization Theory and Design”, by Richard Daft, Jonathan Murphy, and Hugh Willmott. The book is in its 4th edition – but the 3rd or even 2nd edition can be used as well. Chapter 4 & 5 might be helpful  (can be found online otherwise let me know)
