The Starry Messenger, Micrographia, and/or The Virtuoso

What kind of person engages in science?  What kind of sensibility is required to be a scientist or a natural philosopher, and how are those traits promoted or criticized in the works we have read? In a 3-5 page essay that analyzes at least two of the following texts, The Starry Messenger, Micrographia, and/or The Virtuoso, discuss a few key episodes where the author explores the imaginative, psychological or behavioral qualities that are required to do science.  In what way are they praised or satirized?  For what reasons?
