Task Details/Description:
Students have been given a choice of five possible topics/titles for their essays. They are required to produce an essay of around 3,000 words in response to one of the titles given.
If you feel that you are unable to write an essay based around your e-business, you may base your work around an existing organisation instead. This might be a company (of any size) but could also be any other organisation, such as a government agency or not-for-profit. This should be a last option for you as the assignment is intended to make use of your experience of setting up a small business. In addition, you must obtain a written permission from your tutor before taking up this option, doing otherwise will attract some penalty including having to re-do the coursework.
Module Learning Outcomes Assessed:
1. Define an overall e-business strategy for sustainable competitive advantage
2. Evaluate an organisation in terms of its e-business maturity, business model and competitive strategy.
3. Employ a wide range of concepts, theories and techniques in relation to managing an e-business, defining strategy and achieving competitive advantage.
Presentation Requirements:
You are required to submit a 3000-word essay. While most of you may choose to produce an essay or report, you may produce your work in any appropriate format. However, if you choose not to use an essay or report format, you should discuss this with your tutor first.
In addition, your work must include an appendix containing these items:
• You must include a copy of all your weekly sheets produced as part of the webinar programme.
• You must include a financial document that summarises income, expenditure and profit. A sample sheet will be provided which you can use.
• If your business used a web site of any kind, you must include screenshots of the site.
