1. Choose a current event in world politics. Describe and explain that event using realism, structural realism, liberalism, or neoliberalism.
2. A realist and a liberal meet at a conference. They chat over the role of domestic politics in influencing international outcomes. What would they talk about? What differing perspectives would they offer?
3. Neorealists and neoliberals agree on an essential characteristic of the international system. How do they disagree? Why is that disagreement important?
4. This week you’ll get to participate in two simulations in your discussion sections. Pick one of the simulations (dice game vs. scenario game), and add which theory explains what was going on. Write your reflections on your experience as an actor within the international system. How did your actions relate to theories of international relations?
