At the end of the Army Design Methodology (ADM) lessons you will be required to write a paper on on focused-area listed below:
1. Describe the process and concept of framing the operational environment and how you envision facilitating this process as an operations sergeant major.

1. The readings and learning activities in this series will introduce you to the theory and application of the Army Design Methodology (ADM) for the U.S. Army. Structure of the Paper 1. Title Page – Standard SMC format. 2. Introduction – This section is where you will present the purpose of the essay and clearly articulate the main points that you will be presenting in the body of the paper. 3. Body of the Paper – This section should present a well-organized paper based on research, facts, logic and your ideas about the selected focused-area topic. This section should clearly flow from point to point with clear transitions between points. 4. Conclusion – This section should summarize the focus area question, your purpose for writing, and the main points. 5. References – You must use proper citations and references to identify borrowed material and avoid plagiarism. To meet the standard a minimum of one reference must be effectively used. 

FOCUSED: Your paper should address all parts of the focused-area without many random ideas, which have little or nothing to do with the focused-area. Students often think that adding random factors or ideas will help improve their grade because they know them. The opposite is true – adding random, unrelated ideas or facts usually result in the reduction of points from your grade.
