Choose a topic in the news and find at least two sources about it. Then write a memo giving your opinion of the new event. Be sure to include in your memo all four of these:

• a short quotation
• a long quotation
• a paraphrase
• a mixed paraphrase and quotation

Use formal documentation and attach a Reference page to your memo. Your goal is not to write a wonderful essay but to show that you know how to :

• use borrowed material
• document it

For this exercise, that’s where your emphasis should be.
