Task
In your first major writing assignment, you wrote a personal essay about your relationship with literacy and how it has shaped you. For the second major writing assignment, you will compose a persuasive essay about education. The prompt for this essay is as follows:
Is a university education important? Why or why not?
How to Proceed
First, complete the freewrite assignment due Feb 27.
Second, write out your stance and make a list of reasons why you think that. Include as much “evidence” as you think you need to be persuasive.
The third step is to choose an audience for your essay. Who do you want to persuade? Which person or group of people?
Begin drafting. You will write the essay with a strong viewpoint (which side of the debate is right) and plenty of support and evidence (why that side of the debate is right).
Finally, revise according to feedback from your peers and writing tutor.
