Hi, this is a 3rd year essay and my final one, so the quality needs to be as high as possible. the lecturer who is marking it, likes things written clearly and simply, rather than over complicated and written like an academic.  regarding references, there is no minimum requirement, but 15+ would be good, or at least 12+. 

For the topic i have chosen for this essay, there are no real specific requirements, but it would be good be good if it can be linked to  ideas of modernity, Gramsci, bifurcation and  how the global south is both  a concept and a reality.

From the class in which we discussed the essay options, the professor mentioned a few ideas such as: why and how? Broadening the curriculum (bit different to decolonising), should there be African sociology? Is that a replica of European society. 

Unsettles and destabilises our concept of modernity.   However, as mentioned there is some freedom in this, but it would be great if some of these notions and previous module content can be linked in. i can provide the reading notes and reading list if need be.
