There are several types of incidents of child abuse within all communities.  Abusers may include parents, older siblings, other relatives, and other people.  While corporal punishment is a form of discipline, how do we draw the line and define physical injuries to children?  Should the community have the duty to report such incidents of child abuse to the proper authorities?  After reading chapter 9 of the textbook expand on/and answer one of the below questions.  Or, you can select more than one to write about.  Have fun!

  • Put the bylines such as the assignment Title, your name, course and section number, and date at the center/middle of the document (this needs be on its own page – called the title page).
  • Use one-inch margins.
  • Use a 12-point Times New Roman font.
  • Use double line spacing in the document.
  • Use APA Citation Style (Abstract APA format PowerPoint slide is provided in the Optional Resources tab).
A thoughtful Research Paper includes:
a. Introduction (abstract)
b. Body
c.Conclusion
d. References page - be sure to use the text as your primary reference

The student will write a 500-700 words paper in current APA format that focus on any of the topic areas (above). The paper must include at least 1 reference in addition to course materials. APA resources are located in the “Optional Sources” tab.
