You are expected to use credible sources, though that does not mean they must be academic and/or peer reviewed. The ethics of eating is not a conversation limited to academics. That said, start by making use of the library, as well as academic websites. Why? Because in most cases someone has probably already written a chapter or book on your topic of interest that will point you in the direction of reading you should do. Avoid websites that do not provide you with an author’s name and background. Do not just pick the first search results on the internet. Consider the source. Consider who is speaking, where it is published, and for whom they are writing. If ever in doubt, get in touch.
