In this paper, I’d like you to explore how your country’s (IRELAND) health system interacts with the international health community. This is a broad topic, and you have wide latitude to choose exactly what you’d like to write about. Some topics you might consider:

• If your country is active in developing medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, write about how that industry contributes to the global health economy.
• If your country gets a lot of aid from other countries, you could focus on how donors influence health system priorities, or improve the health of the population.
• If your country sends a lot of aid to other countries, you could address how that aid is prioritized (even focusing on specific programs or issues).
• If your country is active in the WHO, UNICEF, or even a regional health agency (via the EU or Organization of American States) you could write about how it is influencing international health policy.

Remember, a three-page paper is relatively short, so focusing on a single issue or program is ideal. A three page paper for this class should use a minimum of 3 outside sources from government, policy groups, or peer-reviewed literature.

Please do not write on COVID, because we will be addressing COVID in the final paper for this course.

Remember to use APA style for paper formatting and references cited. Please do not include an abstract or cover page.
