Supply Chain Issues in Africa

Supply Chain in Africa has all of the same issues that we face in developed countries, but it is exacerbated by additional problems found on the continent.  After reading the text, and readings, point out one or two specific issues faced in Africa.  Provide any ideas you may have to help alleviate them.

1.     Beyond the container ports, which are the key points of entry and exit for imports and exports, there are massive inland markets with plenty of potential. However, with many of the economics in sub-Saharan Africa being landlocked, the poor quality of inland transportation connections is restricting their economic development (Miller, 2015).

2.     The terrain across Africa also varies widely, from desert to mountains and rain forest. Such geographical diversity has a big impact on critical transport infrastructure often making it more challenging and costly to build road and rail networks, as well as much-needed bridges and tunnels (Miller, 2015).
