As one of our final readings of the semester, I want you to take MLK Jr’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” slowly and methodically. Reflect on the letter and determine — as you have so many times before in the course — why a reading like this belongs. Feel free to pick a specific passage to focus on. Make sure you quote accordingly.
As you may have noticed, things in the course have gotten slightly political. As we turn the corner towards the midterms, does King’s letter spark anything powerful in you? How is he using rhetoric to get his point across? Is the letter a call to action, or a call to introspection?
