Write Your Own Short Story. 

For our second assignment, I would like you to write your own short story. We’ve discussed many of the qualities of effective short stories; varying sentences, sharp dialogue, avoiding cliches. In 3-5 pages, I want you to take the opportunity to write and create a piece of your own. It can be about anything you would like; it can even be a fictionalized story from your own life. 
This assignment will not be graded on quality, but on effort. Creating a piece is subjective; what one reader thinks is good is not what another enjoys. This assignment will be graded on effort. Does the piece meet the requirements, is it free of spelling and format errors. Does it seen like the writer cared about their work. 
If you need an idea, try a prompt with a random word, sentence, color. Sometimes little things can spark your imagination. But most of all, think about the kinds of things that interest you as a reader, as a viewer. What is something you feel passionately about and want to explore?
