in a local newspaper that specified that: “Applicant must be young, female, attractive, and possess outstanding
customer relations skills. Applicants who are selected would be required to stand for long periods of time and
charm customers.” Lucy, who works in the same grocery store, believes that the ad is discriminatory. She claims
that “attractiveness” has nothing to do with the job and that Ron is using his position of authority at the store to
engage in unethical hiring practices.
After speaking with Lucy, you decide to write a report in which you explain:
1. What is unethical about Ron’s job ad.
2. What kind of discrimination is taking place.
