I will set up Trifold, just need the work done.
Neglected tropical diseases affect more than 1 billion people, primarily poor populations living in tropical and subtropical climates. They are frequently clustered together geographically and individuals are often afflicted with more than one parasite or infection. More than 70% of countries and territories that report the presence of neglected tropical diseases are low-income or lower-middle-income economies. The people who are most affected by these diseases are often the poorest populations, living in remote, rural areas, urban slums, or conflict zones. Neglected tropical diseases persist under conditions of poverty and are concentrated almost exclusively in impoverished populations in the developing world. There is reason to be optimistic, however. Many neglected tropical diseases can be prevented, eliminated, or even eradicated with improved access to existing safe and cost-effective tools. Control relies on simple interventions that can be carried out by non-specialists — for example schoolteachers, village heads, and local volunteers — in community-based preventive action. And this is where you come in. Mission: You are the head of a foundation dedicated to your pre-selected negated tropical disease. Your job is to plan a fundraiser to bring attention to your neglected tropical disease and to fund your solution. Project: You will be required to create a tri-fold poster board. On this posterboard you will include the following: Center board – the who, what where, when, and why of your disease. This is the information, statistics, and why people should care. Left Fold – Your foundation – who are you and what is your mission/solution Right fold – Your event/fundraiser. This is where you sell your event and try to attract donors. Back – List of references (minimum 5) Presentation: You will be asked to give a 15-20 minute presentation to the class explaining your neglected tropical disease, your foundation, and your fundraiser. Be prepared to answer questions about your topic. Grade: Each student will grade the presenter on a given rubric. That score will be averaged with the score of the professor for your final grade out of 100 points. Due this week: Outline of your presentation: Center board – The what – What is your organism? The who – Who does it infect? The where – Where is this organism endemic? The when – When did this become a problem? Give me statisics. The why – Why should we do something about this? Left fold – What is your foundation? Who do you represent? What have you done What do you hope to accomplish? Right fold – What is your event? How are you raising your money? What does the benefactor’s purchase get? Citations – show me at least 5+, properly formatted
