data collection tool

To create this tool, you need to think about what data you can collect from your research participants that would be numerical and build a tool from that. So, for example, a tool might be a group of five questions, all of which will result in a numerical answer such as: 1. On a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best, how do you rate this class so far 2. What numerical grade do you think you have in the class so far 3. On a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best, how do you rate the quality of discussions in the blogs so far. As we see with the three questions above, we only look for a number answer. If I made the following adjustment to question 1: 1. On a scale of 1-10 with ten being the best, how do you rate this class so far. Second, tell me what characteristics or events in the class influenced you to pick that rating. Now I have a mixed methods question which simply means it is a question that has both a quantitative and qualitative element. The first answer is a number and the second response will be a narrative explanation which can’t be counted. Again, for this assignment, I want you to put together a grouping of questions or rating scales or anything that you think will work for your project that will produce a numerical outcome.
