Using the text and your own research, write a 3-4 page paper with APA style in text citations that describes a person you know and their health promotion risks/needs. You will need to incorporate references from at least 2 professional sources in addition to your text (Wikipedia is NOT a reliable, professional source!) Choose a person that you know and describe them: age, height, weight, marital status (if appropriate), profession, hobbies, sleep/rest, nutrition, exercise, etc. Then describe the person’s current development by using Erikson’s Psychosocial Stages and Piaget’s Cognitive Stages, describe how your patient currently fits (or doesn’t fit) these stages. Identify 3-4 health risks this individual may have and why. Then choose one of those risks and provide health information to educate this person. Include a resource (website, brochure, etc.) that your patient can access for more information/support. State whether you are utilizing primary, secondary or tertiary health promotion interventions. You may not use any names in the paper to protect the confidentiality of the person. Also, be aware of any other descriptions that may expose who the individual is (i.e. “my sister”, “my chemistry professor”, etc.) I will be looking for evidence of critical thinking, original thought, arguments that are supported, ideas that are well thought out, and an overall understanding of the importance of health promotion in human development. Papers should be formatted in APA style. A cover page and reference page are expected. Incorrect grammar, lack of organization and spelling will result in a loss of points. (See Grading Rubric) 4
