DRAFT Tribal Profile – After reading 3-5 academic works and up to 2 relevant web pages, the student will create a draft of their Tribal Profile that highlights their selected tribe’s culture, time of crisis and modern status. A bibliography/works cited page/slide should be included. (100 points) Suggested topics for inclusion in the tribal profile (Three separate time periods must be present, but students may decide the exact content of each section to provide the most complete profile of the selected tribe): Culture (ie. Original territory, Lifestyle, Family Structure, Religion/Rites of Passage) Contact/Crisis (ie. which Europeans first made contact, what crisis arose, resolution of the crisis and the development of reservations, including famous figures) Modern Status (ie. Location of population centers and reservation(s), Resources and Needs, Challenges and Triumphs, Newsworthy moments and figures) Tribal Profile Visual Presentation – The research project concludes with the presentation of the student’s research to the rest of the class in the Tribal Profile Presentation forum. Presentations must include images/maps, but may be formatted as a presentation, a slide show or any other multimedia format
