Analytics Assignment 

The purpose of this assignment is to introduce you to data visualization, which has become a vital analytics skill for our profession, and to standard-setting research, which is the foundation for much of our professional work. This assignment has two levels: (1) Replication-level and (2) Research-level. 

– The replication-level will introduce you to the data visualization elements by telling you the answer (that’s right) and then letting you practice looking at the visualizations to confirm the answer. You will then be asked to replicate this new exercise for a different question (without the answer). Note: The highest grade you can get in the course is a B if you only do this level. 

– The research-level will ask you to go to the FASB Codification to research an accounting question related to interest capitalization. Note: You must complete this level AND the replication-level to be considered for the A tier for your final grade.
