  1. Describe your company’s operations and current process type. Review performance to date. Describe your current management team and their experience. Do a SWOT on the current operations.
  2. Calculate the capacity of the line under the current system. How will the proposed automation affect the production process? If Polymer were to automate this process, would it be able to meet their customer’s weekly demand without weekend work? 
  3. Identify operations problems and identify bottlenecks. Do a “Process Flow” diagram for your current operations. Use terms such as efficiency and effectiveness, capacity and theoretical capacity etc. in your work if possible.
  4. How can we improve the situation? Give me some options and their associated costs. Do another “Process Flow” diagram with improvements included.
  5. Discuss other issues such as Pricing Strategy, Human Resource Management, Product Image and Competitive Position, and how to optimize them.
