Abstract: There are many methods to assess the technological innovation capacity of enterprises, especially those in the information technology sector. Assessing an enterprise’s innovation capacity is an important tool to analyze and guide a company’s success, however, the threats identified by innovation in a software project on a daily basis are there. Reality and expectations in a project are often high. Information technology companies have a high degree of uncertainty and complexity in their operations, which leads us to recommend a specific approach to assessing innovation to manage threats. this threat. Using the right innovation metrics for an IT company can be a key success factor for these companies. There is no prior overall assessment on innovation capacity in Information technology companies. This paper discusses the key innovation capacity assessment criteria and their impact on the development process of software companies, thereby further assessing the influence of innovation capacity indicators related to innovation and success of software companies. The results enhance understanding about the special characteristics of innovation capability in Information technology companies. Further, using the findings of this review, managers can improve their firms’ capability to innovate by acknowledging the multiple facets of innovation capability.
