For the past 13 weeks you’ve been focused on gathering specific kinds of information using specific research methods to produce a comprehensive final neighborhood profile. Now, using that new-found knowledge, you should identify a specific question that has emerged from your research and develop a brief research proposal for answering it.

Your assignment should start with a brief introduction in which you describe the issue you have identified through your previous research assignments – background research, observational tour, demographic population and change, other quantitative data and stakeholder interviews – and how that research informs your understanding of the neighborhood.

This should be followed by your statement of the research question or purpose – remember, this doesn’t have to be in the form of a question!

Then provide a brief statement of what additional research you plan to do and the research methods (and if you can, research sources) you would use.

Your research proposal should be a written document, between 1/2 and one page in length.
