The purpose of this assignment is to write a draft in which you apply ideas from Bazerman’s “Intertextuality: How Texts Rely on Other Texts” to a short piece of writing from outside class. You should use this draft as an opportunity to generate ideas. For this draft, I am not concerned with grammatical correctness or stylistic sophistication. I just want to see you engaging in careful thinking through writing. You will revise this draft into something more polished in Write 02: Critical Essay 1 – Second Draft.
