According to research; In 2016. 10,497 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for 28% of all traffic- related deaths in the United States. Of the 1,233 traffic deaths among children ages 0-14 years old in 2016, 214 (17%) involved an alcohol-impaired driver. Impared driving can cause accidents that lead to paralysis, disfigurement, brain damage, and even death. Impaired-driving is also a crime. Kayla Parrish 3.1COLLAPSEIt is a huge problem within the U.S. and the sad part is most of the people who are left with life threatening injurys or deaths are the victims not the intoxicated individuals. “Every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes — that’s one person every 45 minutes. In 2020, 11,654 people died in alcohol-impaired driving traffic deaths — a 14% increase from 2019. These deaths were all preventable.” (NHTSA)
