Assessment Details and Instructions 

Following on from Assessment 1, in this task you will further develop the case study, and examine the individual’s life, taking a lifespan developmental perspective. The key developmental issues they have experienced over the course of their lives should be discussed, and analysed through the theoretical and empirical topics covered in this unit. This theoretical and empirical basis should be utilised to provide an explanation for that individual’s life story as linked to developmental psychology. Thus your case study should provide the following: 

– Background description to the individual (you will need to watch the documentaries up through the most recent version, 63-up) including identification of the developmental issues experienced across their lifespan. These issues can be any circumstances that could have impacted their life, wellbeing, and potentially changed their life course either in the short term or long term; 

– Analysis of developmental issues identified as explained by the theoretical and empirical literature to provide a basis for the individual’s life and circumstances; 

– Analysis of the key ethical issues inherent in this type of lifespan psychological research as relevant to the individual. Ethical issues should be based on relevant literature; 

– Reflection of key strategies depicted by the individual to maintain their wellbeing and resilience across the lifespan as based on the literature. If strategies are not depicted, suggestions to promote and maintain wellbeing and resilience should be provided as appropriate to the individual. Strategies discussed should be linked to the literature. 

– Overall conclusion. 

Formatting instructions 

– Format your case study similar to an essay/written assessment in psychology. 

– Use headings/subheadings for the key topics identified. 

– Use appropriate font size, spacing (no single spacing please), margins, page numbers. 

– Writing style should be academic – expression should be clear and easy to follow. 

– Reference appropriately using APA 7th: 

– ALL sources need to be cited appropriately INCLUDING the 7-UP documentary series. 

– An abstract is not needed. 

-Case study word limit is 2000 words (upper limit, no +/- 10%). The word limit does NOT include the title page and reference list, but DOES include in-text citations and headings.
